Special Guest Teacher – Gen Kelsang Chokyan
Becoming a Friend of the World – the Promise of Enlightenment

Sat, May 20, 10:00am-3:30pm
Cost $40 (lunch included)

A Bodhisattva is a friend of the world – someone who, motivated by compassion, promises to complete the path to enlightenment to be able to benefit each and every living being. By taking and keeping the Bodhisattva’s promise, we learn how to use all our daily activities to help others solve their problems and find lasting happiness. Then our own life will have purpose and each day of our life will feel very fulfilling.

Gen Kelsang Chokyan is the  Resident Teacher at KMC Tampa Bay. Chokyan is a western Buddhist monk ordained in the New Kadampa Tradition, and he has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (Founder on the NKT) for many years. A great example of how to practice Kadampa Buddhism in the modern world, Gen Chokyan shows us how to find peace and happiness in our daily lives.
